Aubs Family Photos Sponsorship Info

(Little Girl Joins Her Family Outside to Set Up Market for the Day)

It is difficult to put into words what this project means to me and will mean to so many families. I am hoping that with this information, I will be able to request your sponsorship for my photography project, which provides free family photos to underprivileged families here in the USA as well as other countries around the world.

I am a professional photographer with over 16 years of experience. I am passionate about using my skills to give back to the community, and I believe that everyone deserves to have high-quality family photos, regardless of their financial situation.

In June of 2023 Aubrey Brower Photography, LLC organized and completed a project called Aubs Family Photos in Merida Mexico. The project was to find and give families with limited access to family photos, professional portraits, at no cost to them. The idea materialized quickly and there was little time to plan. However, with some amazing friends' donations, I was able to stay for 7 days and photograph over 25 families.

There is something about the connection in the Latin culture that draws me in. It is something I have always sought after since I was a little girl. My family of origin as well as my adopted family, struggled in the area of connection. I am enamored by the family values you see in Latin cultures. Taking these images gives me an opportunity to witness and become a part of a world I used to only imagine. I made friends that I will stay connected with into the future and on our next adventures. Each adventure will be a priceless experience for many people.

Planning this from another country and trusting people you hardly know to show up for a good cause with no pay is tough and incredibly nerve-wracking. Thank goodness the voice that says, “This cause is worthy” is still echoing louder than my doubts saying, “It’s not going to work, give up”. I did it then, and now here I am ready to do it again.

Connection is a human need. Studies show that family portraits enhance the feelings of belonging when viewed. I want to give families these portraits so they can come back time and time again. Giving them the ability to re-enter those warm feelings of love and connection. Feeling like you belong is so important to healthy development.

My project is funded entirely through donations and sponsorships. Your sponsorship would help me to reach more families and provide them with the gift of lasting memories.

I need your help to help others.

How it works:

  1. Fundraising - We are seeking funds through sponsorship and donations. Every sponsorship & donation over $500 will be promoted on all of our social media, to show our gratitude and let your company shine.

  2. Local Ground Crew and Interpreter - We need local support from villagers who cannot afford to take unpaid leave from work to help our cause. We would like to offer a stipend to offset their commitment to our project. We are so grateful for all of the work they do before we arrive. Having feet in the ground prior, helping to spread the word around the village about the photos, gathering information, and finding additional volunteers.

  3. Travel Week - We will be documenting the entire trip each day, while a film crew shoots footage for our upcoming documentary* about family and connection

Photo Shoot Process

Our local ground crew will get to work talking to families in the village of Seyé, Mexico. They will also be gathering information about the families so we can purchase items for their household. Once the families have been invited and we get to our location. We will spend 2 days getting and organizing supplies, 2 shoot days, 2 editing & delivery days.

Tentative Shoot Day Schedule:

  • 6:30 am - Get ready and pack the car with gear and supplies

  • 8:00 am - Meet local volunteers in El Centro. Have snacks & coffee while we explain and designate roles

  • 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Visit homes, photograph families, and deliver supplies

  • 6:00 pm - Dinner w/ volunteers

  • 8:30 pm - Back to home base

Volunteer roles:

  • Family Coordinator/Survey Coordinator

  • Donation Coordinator

  • Photographer

  • Photographer Assistant/Social Media Coordinator

  • Driver

Throughout the day our social media manager will be sharing the progress with photos and posts through our social media accounts (stories, reels, posts, etc.). They will also be sending out daily group chat updates with sneak peek photos and videos before they are public.

Measuring Impact

Idaho’s Population was approximately 1,753,946 in 2020, the number of those people in poverty is around 195,984 with an overall percentage of 11.2%. Additionally, More than 25% of the population of Mérida lives in poverty. These two places are where we are focusing our efforts for the next 2 upcoming projects we are working on.

Our local ground crew will be looking for approximately 25 families per day, for a total of 50+ per trip. They'll also be gathering information about the specific needs of each family; they will then research the best places for us to purchase the items needed. Since there will be a wide variety of needs, we will be tracking those in Excel forms.

We will be getting signed releases from the families and asking if they will permit us to do a quick interview, as well as an anonymous survey in their native language about the experience and how it made them feel. We will be posting the results as well as the allowed interviews upon return from the trip.

These two projects will be filmed by a professional videographer for our upcoming documentary about family and connection.

We give you our thanks and are excited to take you on this journey with us.
